Meet your instructor

Hi, I am Leanna and I am an Ontario College of Teachers certified French Immersion teacher. With a lifelong passion for cooking, I am currently completing a Diploma in Vegetarian cooking at George Brown College. Bistro des Enfants was born in 2020, out of the need for engaging French as a Second Language programming to be delivered virtually. I designed and ran virtual cooking classes for kids in French. With the ability to deliver in-person classes, I am so excited to launch our in person cohorts!

What students will learn

  • Learning kitchen essentials equips children with vital life skills, promoting independence, nutrition awareness, and confidence. By understanding cooking basics, they cultivate healthy eating habits, develop creativity, and gain practical knowledge that fosters self-sufficiency in adulthood

  • French immersion offers numerous benefits, including bilingual proficiency, cognitive development, and cultural appreciation. It enhances language skills, boosts brain function, and opens doors to diverse opportunities in education and career. Moreover, it fosters intercultural understanding and enriches personal growth by immersing learners in the vibrant Francophone culture.

  • Learning healthy recipes empowers kids with lifelong habits for nutritious eating, reducing the risk of obesity and chronic diseases. It cultivates culinary skills, encourages creativity in meal preparation, and fosters appreciation for wholesome ingredients. By instilling these habits early, children develop a foundation for lifelong well-being and vitality.
